RPG Transfer

There are some stories where you just know someone is going to be offended. There are some games, where you know one group or another is going to say something in outage. But everyone once in awhile there is a game or story that comes out that is so ridiculous that everyone begins to rally against it. This is one such game. Here’s the description;

“Faith Fighter is the ultimate fighting game for these dark times. Choose your belief and kick the shit out of your enemies. Give vent to your intolerance! Religious hate has never been so much fun.”

Yep. So basically you get to choose from being Muhammad, Ganesh, Buddha, Budai, or even God. Then, after you choose your spiritual leader, you get down in a brutal hand-to-hand combat fight with opposing deities. The game was created by Molleindustria. Multiple religious groups have spoken out against the game saying it will only incite fear of religion and of course the wrath of god. As of now, Molleindustria has removed the game after official statements released by the Organization of Islamic Conference. Weird, who would have thought official complaints would be released in response to this game?

Well, we know the controversy. But how does the game stand-up? Well, it’s actually not too bad. They put some effort into it, that’s for sure. There are combos (such as Ganesh wielding an axe) , music, and the game in general is a pretty fluid flash game. There’s nothing particularly new or exciting about the gameplay, and it’s pretty clear that Molleindustria made it for shock value only… Which is what they got.
